Our Farm

Farming Beef Cattle since 1876

Nestled near Ficksburg in the scenic Eastern Free State, our farm is home to both our Simmentaler Stud and our commercial beef herd. Here, our singular focus is producing beef of the highest possible caliber.

However, the commercial market in South Africa presents a challenge: large-scale commercial buyers rarely pay a premium for quality. In a system where price is treated as the only factor that matters, attention to detail is often lost. This obsession with the lowest cost is precisely why the taste and tenderness of store-bought meat is so frustratingly inconsistent.

We refuse to cut corners, Producing exceptional beef requires an immense investment of time, effort, dedication, and capital. Where the commercial market sees a commodity, we see a craft.

"Quality is not an act, it is a habit" - Aristotle

For us, quality is a daily standard. By bypassing the commercial noise and bringing our beef directly to you, we ensure that our hard work isn't lost in the system - and that you get the consistent, premium flavor you pay for.

What we offer

Why it matters

antiquepaper.jpg

Most beef on the market is a blend from multiple sources, making it impossible to know exactly where your food comes from. Saxon Beef is different.

Every steak, roast, and cut of mince originates right here on our land. Because we manage both the pastures and the processing operation, we maintain a flawless chain of custody. For you, this means unmatched freshness, rigorous higienic standards, and the peace of mind that comes with knowing your beef is 100% single-farm origin.

Know your farmer, know your food.
